Pop up Christmas ice rinks are becoming increasingly popular in towns across the UK year upon year and this year marked the first time in the local area that residents were being treated to a bit of festive skating as a welcome break from Christmas shopping. For the opening night, which coincided with the Christmas light switch on, they wanted to go the extra mile to encourage people to get on the ice so they decided to provide some hearty food as part of the ticket price for an opening night special. They needed to hire some cooking equipment that would add to the Christmas spirit and allow them to supply a large amount of good grub without too much effort. A hog roast is a great way to feed a lot of people without needing to have a massive budget and by hiring one of our Hogmasters the ice rink management team could do exactly that! The Hog Roast Scunthorpe team reassured them that our Hogmaster would do most of the hard work for them whilst also producing a consistently high standard of meat and when they got back in touch with us to let us know how it went, they confirmed that this was definitely the case!
As expected it was a busy night, but thanks to the Hogmaster, they were easily able to keep up with the pace and keep the ice skating crowd happy and well fed all night with the minimum of effort and even with generous portions, they certainly didn’t have to worry about running out of food!
They felt it was a great decision to hire a Hogmaster for the evening and they told us here at Hog Roast Scunthorpe that they would definitely be in touch with us next year so they can do it all over again!
