Nothing short of brilliant! After being let down by a previous caterer, this was a last min booking. From making an initial enquiry to them leaving the site and everything in between was seamless.

The team arrived set up, the timings I had requested food to be served were spot on, the food was exceptionally tasty with a wide variety of rolls. sides and condiments. Food was served on bamboo plates which were easier to eat from that normal paper plates The team had great comm’s, polite and efficient.

They packaged up left overs, clearly marking what was what and removed all rubbish too.

Highly recommend and would use again in a heartbeat.

We felt so well looked after and Rob thought of every detail, checking in with us as we built up to our Wedding Day. Also going the extra mile helping us with glass wear recommendations and collection, sourcing colour themed napkins and helping us to cut up and box our Wedding Cake.  On the day, the level of service was second to none and oh. my. gosh! The food was of such simply heavenly! Every single guest commented on the level of service, the melt in the mouth pork, fresh salads, homemade side bits and the lovely team! We had so many guests asking for business cards (thank you again Rob for leaving some). Even the left overs (again, kindly beautifully packaged by the team) had all disappeared by the end of the evening. We would recommend Rob to anyone and will definitely be using Spitting Pig Lincolnshire in the future! Dear Britt,

Firstly, in general terms, Rob was nothing short of superb. He arrived for our face-to-face meeting on time, which was very much appreciated by both myself and Steve. During our discussion, he raised important points that we had not considered, regarding lactose free ingredients for the deserts etc. Very important when you are lactose free yourself!! He was very detailed regarding the format of the food. Eg, did we want the chicken as a mix of on the bone and boneless?

He surveyed the available area and we decided the best place for him to set up his equipment. Which he adhered to.

On the day, he text me to notify he was on his way and his time of arrival. Again, he was punctual.

Despite there being a 15-minute delay with the serving of the food (due to the late arrival of some guests), all of the food was absolutely wonderful (so many compliments were passed). It was laid out in such a manner that access was orderly.

The presentation of the desserts would have put Masterchef winners in the shade.

When he and his assistant cleared everything away, they were quick, effective and efficient. You would not have known they had even been in situe.

He and his assistant were polite, professional and very personable. A credit to both themselves, their families and the company.

I would have absolutely no issue in recommending The Spitting Pig to anyone for all of the above reasons, and indeed, many of guests did request the details.

Rob and his daughter, were absolutely brilliant!  Lovely people, really professional friendly attitude. Their set up and pack away was immaculate. The food was fantastic, and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

There was some food left over; we didn’t quite reach the 100 ticket sales that we had anticipated.  So, it was a really nice opportunity for us to be able to give the volunteers that helped us on the evening some ‘piggy bags’ to take home.  Rob packaged up the leftovers really well for us to give out at the end.

Although our event was for my mums funeral, it could not have gone any better. Your Catering Manager Robert and his colleague were very professional throughout.  Everything happened to time and was exactly as we had discussed.

My Mum’s 50^th birthday was a couple of days ago and I booked The Spitting Pig as a surprise as she had never had a hog roast before. The service provided was marvellous, they set everything up very quietly as I didn’t want to ruin the surprise and the staff created the most amazing food which catered for the vegans in my family. Overall the experience was amazing 100% and I would definitely recommend!

Hired Spitting Pig as a pick me up/ thank you for my office staff and it was a huge hit! The hog was amazing, staff friendly and the process simple from booking to serving.

We had an excellent time thank you very much and I would highly recommend yourselves again as the food and service were first class and all the guests were very impressed.  From when I first booked yourselves I found your company extremely efficient and helpful and huge thanks to Rob in helping make the day go smoothly.  The event was for my husband’s surprise 40th and he was also very pleased with how it all went.

The provision of The Hog Roast by The Spitting Pig exceeded all our expectations. Rob , as an ex-military chef ran the event with all the organisational benefit of his former training. The 3 attendants were smartly dressed and helpful and charming.

Cleanliness was exemplary. Our guests came back for ‘seconds’ and quite a few for ‘thirds’ and we have been eating the remains for the last 3 days!

Everything was prepared and presented with care and with pride. The flavour was ……well, it was full of flavour. I must mention the wide selection of breads, too, from a local artisan baker. I am the sort of person who complains or compliments in equal measure, and vocally !!!

There really was nothing that could be improved upon. It helped to make my daughter’s wedding reception the event she had wished it to be. If anyone believes this review to be too good to be true, you can give them my contact details.

The day went absolutely great. Everyone (yes – everyone said what a fabulous party it was and they all agreed that the pork was delicious.
The catering just could not have been better and Robert and Callum were so professional with their presentation.

The day was a big success for me in that I used the occasion of my 75th as a fundraising event to raise money for a defibrillator for the day centre at St Barnabas Hospice, Lincoln. With over 100 guests present we exceeded all expectations and raised £800!

They were lovely, the service was wonderful and they served the best hog roast I have ever tried! My husband is a huge hog roast fan, so him giving Spitting Pig a 10/10 really says something!

All our guests have complimented us on our food during and after the wedding, so thank you so much for catering our day and I would certainly use you again for any future events.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent catering you provided for my retirement party on Saturday last (13th Aug). The timing was perfect and as we had arranged. The canapés, hogroast and pudding were delicious and generated rave comments from all 150 people there.
Many thanks for helping make the day so special for me, and effortless for my family.

The occasion was my retirement from TataSteel after 45 years, serving among other things as a Quality Assurance Manager, so I know about quality in all its different guises.

Having never done this sort of thing before, the guidance given on choice of menu and procurement of marquee and the various accessories was second to none.

The feedback from my guests to date has been excellent and I am certain the evening will bring you more business. Anyone considering marriage celebrations should consider this route as being cheaper and tastier, rather than the fare traditionally provided at a fancy hotels. For reasons of our own we chose to source the Canapés from others suppliers, however I suspect those that can be provided by Spitting Pig would be excellent.
Anyone expecting a piece of pork in a bread bun being thrown at you in passing can think again. We chose to have a Wild Boar roasted, at considerable extra expense, but after 7 hours this was cooked to perfection, and worth every penny!

To accompany the Boar, we booked three salads, Waldorf, Fresh Green leaf and TOMATO AND BASIL. They were all very good, but the latter was fabulous, made with Colin’s own hydroponically grown tomatoes of multifarious varieties.

We chose 2 deserts, Fresh Fruit flan and Lemon and Lime Cheesecake. The Cheesecake in particular was exceptional! The two serving girls hired to man the bar and serve the food were very friendly, hard working and professional. I think you have got the message by now – VERY WELL DONE!

I hope you are well. Just a little note to say very big thank you to you and your excellent team. The day was more than perfect and your team and yourself were one of the major contributors to it. The standard of waitress service was extremely efficient and friendly. The culinary standard was excellent both for the main reception and the evening barbeque. The canapés were exceptional. All the guests enjoyed the food immensely and have since then spoken many a times about it. Thank you for all the hard work you put in. We were indeed fortunate to have found you. Thank you for making our special day so much more special. We would not hesitate in recommending you to any one.

I really want to say a massive thank you to you, and all the team that helped provide the food for our wedding. Before the event, the communication and advice you gave us was invaluable and you really knew what would be a success!

On the day of the reception, you arrived with your team and got straight to work. I never saw anyone stop all day. Despite constant interruptions from me (for which I’m sorry!!), everyone remained so friendly and really got into the spirit of the day. The atmosphere from you guys was tremendous and it was like having friends or family doing the catering.

I am also so grateful for the help you and the team gave us on the day. The team really had a massive task as we had 170 guests to seat and feed! The girls set up 17 tables for us, and each table looked fabulous. I honestly could not have done that without your help!

On to the food…..WOW, what can I say!! The canapés were beautiful and really well presented and got the evening off to a flying start. For the meal we had pork and beef and I watched the pig roasting away all day. When we sat down to eat I can honestly say, it was the best meat I have ever tasted, and the crackling was absolutely delicious. The guests have since told us that they thought the food was amazing and that they were going back four and five times for more!! People have sent cards to us thanking us for the invite, and commenting on how much they all enjoyed the hog roast, (and don’t forget, a lot of these guys are farmers and they know good meat!!).

So, thank you so much for helping to make our day absolutely magical. Without your help I know it would not have been nearly as successful and I would have no hesitations what so ever in recommending you to anyone who wanted a hog roast wedding!!

I know our event was over a week ago but I haven’t really had a chance to sit down and email you until now!! I wanted to say a huge thank you for everything you did last weekend. The food was outstanding, so many people have made a point of coming to tell me how much they enjoyed it and you were both so friendly and helpful, it made all the difference!!
We were so impressed that you did a hog roast in such freezing conditions and the salads, quiche and burgers were delicious too. It was just what we wanted – real quality service. We will be having a summer staff party so expect a call to book you in for then!!
