We love unusual venues! The beauty of booking Hog Roast Barton is that we can literally set up and cook for you wherever you wish, indoors or outdoors, nowhere is out of bounds…within reason! Last week we were hired by Chantelle and Rob to cater for 80 of their closest friends and family at their wedding in Skidby in Hull…held in a tepee!
We offer a variety of wedding menus which can all be customised to meet your needs. The Hog Roast team will arrive at your venue around 6 hours before your serve time and slowly roast your meats on site. We’ll also prepare all salads and side dishes too to ensure they are as fresh as possible. As the guests filtered in after Chantelle and Rob’s ceremony, the Hog Roast Barton team served a range of canapes, prepared fresh at the venue including handmade gourmet sausage served with a whole grain mustard dip, smoked salmon and grilled chunks of halloumi cheese skewered with caramelised onions.
As the main course is served as a buffet, Rob carved the meat while the rest of the team served up the other dishes. The guests hungrily helped themselves to spit roasted pig served with apple sauce stuffing and crispy crackling and sirloin of roast beef served with horseradish sauce, Yorkshire puddings and homemade red wine gravy. For side dishes there were warm new potatoes in herb butter and a range of salads. Although we are a hog roast company, we always like to provide a vegetarian or vegan alternative to suit all guests dietary requirements. On this occasion we grilled up some vegetable and halloumi skewers which non veggie guests always seem to love too! Hog Roast Barton had a great day being part of Chantelle and Rob’s wedding, what a great venue and the tepee really created a relaxed and bohemian vibe for the reception.
