Let’s meet Rob! The Forefront Of Hog Roast Market Rasen!

Rob is Hog Roast Market Rasen’s catering manager with over two decades of experience in the catering industry. Before taking on the venture of Hog Roast Market Rasen he was a chef in the army for over 20 years and enjoys his work. Rob is therefore a professional and passionate chef who will deliver hearty food and fantastic service!

We asked Rob about his experiences with Hog Roast Market Rasen… 

What has been your funniest moment on an event?

Rob had the pleasure of serving at RAF Coningsby, after everyone enjoyed the food Rob and his team started packing away. It just so happened that a typhoon took off with the gazebo and Rob in the jet stream, so the typhoon wasn’t the only thing that took off, so did the gazebo with Rob re-creating Mary Poppins!  

What has been the most unusual request you’ve had?

Rob claims that he once had a request for monk fish for 50 people in a fine dining experience. Hog Roast Market Rasen does do bespoke and tailored menus, but monk fish was a random desire from the customer. Nevertheless, Rob obliged, and the guests thoroughly enjoyed it!  

What has been your most memorable event?

All events that Rob does are memorable in their own way, but the one that sticks out for Rob is a Disney films theme fancy dress party in Hull. It was a great venue, a lovely client and every guest had gone all out with their outfits, it was amazing. According to Rob, some outfits were that fabulous that they could have been used in the Disney films! 

If you were a client, which menu would you choose?

Rob would choose the Southern Slow Roast menu; a lot of heart and soul goes into the prepping of this menu and the outcome is incredibly delicious. The meats especially need the love and care of being massaged with seasoning and American-inspired rubs, allowing the flavours of to marinate for a few hours before being slowly roasted on low heat. The meats become exceedingly tender and full of favour… is anyone else drawling? Yum!
