Earlier this year, Hog Roast Gainsborough was contacted to arrange catering for a local wedding taking place in Lincolnshire. Our catering manager Rob was contacted by Lisa and Alan to discuss menu choices for their big day, ensuring that they got the right option for them and their guests. The menu needed to be suitable for 130 guests, including a variety of dishes for everyone to enjoy. There also needed to be a tasty vegetarian option, as well as a gluten-free choice for 12 guests. Hog Roast Gainsborough always aims to make our catering as accessible as possible, so we were more than happy to get started with this! After discussing menu options, it was decided that our Classic Hog Roast followed by a selection of desserts would be ideal.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Gainsborough team arrived at the venue early, with plenty of time to prepare for the 15:00 mealtime. We began by roasting the hog, ensuring that the meat was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Once ready, it was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls or a gluten-free alternative. For meat-free guests, we also served BBQ pulled jackfruit. Alongside the main dishes, guests could enjoy a selection of delicious sides, including sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and seasonal vegetables.
Following the main course, the guests enjoyed a selection of tasty desserts. Our team served sticky toffee pudding and tasty cheesecake, with both dishes served with fresh fruit and English cream. This created a wonderful meal that tasted and looked extraordinary!
