Hog Roast Spilsby – Taking Flight with Hog Roast Spilsby’s Speciality Hog Roast Catering!

As a caterer it is our privilege at Hog Roast Spilsby to be able to join all sorts of unique and wonderful events at some of the most interesting and outstanding venues in the country. Being local to Lincolnshire, we of course know all about the historic Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre which is home to some of the rarest surviving WWII era aircrafts, all of which are open for display to guests all year round.

Every so often the museum will also host its own celebrations, inviting locals to come and share in some good foods and enjoy a little more of a celebration of history and those that gave their lives in the mid-20th century. As a local caterer, Hog Roast Spilsby were fortunate enough to be invited along to cook for the 200+ guests in attendance!

We have a few aviation enthusiasts in our team, so this was an extra exciting invite for the Hog Roast Spilsby team. We knew we had to do right but

such an event, so our chefs drew up an excellent hog roast menu so that every guest could enjoy delicious hog roast and BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls while taking in the sights and enjoying the aviation show! Our team arrived to the centre early in the day to get our hog roast going while our chefs also prepped fresh salads, veg and halloumi skewers to go onto the grill when guests arrived, freshly made coleslaw, and plenty of rolls and wraps for the

200+ guests to enjoy multiple servings, should they wish.

When there is news that some of the planes are going to take flight, you hope and pray for good weather, and thankfully those prayers were answered as the day turned out spectacularly with plenty of sun, making the event all the better. After a long lunch shift serving all 200 guests and enjoying plenty of laughs, the guests and the Hog Roast Spilsby team were then treated to one last show as a Spitfire and a Hurricane mad a fly over to close the event!
