There’s no reason to be scared of the “dreaded” forty anymore – some are even saying it’s the new twenty, only with much more wisdom and experience to impart (and, unfortunately, worse hangovers)!
At Hog Roast Barkston, we’re always all too ready to celebrate a good birthday bash, regardless of the age. So, when Simon of Barkston came to our team looking for some celebratory dining for his own 40th we were only all to happy to join! Held in an extraordinary venue in The Grange in Barkston, this was a 40th set to be for the ages as just shy of 50 guests RSVP’d to the event, all ready to enjoy the very best of our alfresco dining!
Alfresco dining is always a great choice for a birthday party. Guests typically want something a little less formal for a birthday, as opposed to a wedding or a corporate event, so the lighter yet no less stylish touch of Hog Roast Barkston’s alfresco dining service is always a great middle ground for anyone with a venue with plenty of great outdoor space. In such a venue you might not think there is much more you can do on the presentation front, but our antipasti platters and grazing tables do help to lift the style and spectacle that little touch event further. The best part is, amongst all the presentation there is also a tonne of delicious foods to enjoy, too! With the finest cuts of Italian meats like prosciutto, Parma ham, salamis; the best of Italian cheeses like gorgonzola, buffalo mozzarella, parmigiano; the most exquisite artisanal breads; and zesty and flavoursome dipping oils of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar to bring it all together, you have a feast well worth any milestone age!
But that wasn’t all that was on the menu for Simon’s 40th – we were just getting started. Our signature hog roast main was to follow, served along with additional gourmet sausages, grilled veg and halloumi skewers for a vegetarian option, roasted baby new potatoes, and refreshing mixed leaves, tomato and mozzarella salad, and homemade gourmet slaw.
With barely an unfinished plate in sight, we consider that yet another great Hog Roast Barkston success, and a 40th celebration well observed!
