This job takes the Hog Roast Lincoln team out to all sorts of wonderful and interesting venues. It is one of the best perks of the job. One which our Hog Roast Lincoln chefs will be bragging about for some time came this month when our corporate catering team were tasked with a catered serve at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Centre with the RAF Coningsby.
It’s not often you get to cook up a hog roast under the wing of some of Britain’s greatest ever fighter planes and historic wartime aircrafts, but thanks to RAF Coningsby’s need for a large catered dinner, our Hog Roast Lincoln chefs were able to enjoy that privilege. We’re proud to support our RAF here at Hog Roast Lincoln, making this privilege all the more salient for each of our team.
Knowing we had to be at our very best for the RAF, we made sure to bring out a feast worthy of the air force. Fortunately for us, our classic hog roast is always going to be able to handle such a demand. With its long, golden roast, you’ve got plenty of delicious pork to feed the one hundred RAF members in attendance alone, and that’s before you get to the bubbling crispy crackling, the homemade sage and onion stuffing, the delicious apple sauce that comes with our classic hog roast.
We then also had a vegetarian option of our delicious grilled veg and halloumi skewers. Both meat and veggie options were further bulked out with our mixed salad greens and our creamy coleslaw, which goes great in any of our gluten-free rolls and wraps alongside our pork or our halloumi skewers.
We cannot thank the RAF Coningsby enough for having us out to the historic flight centre. Our chefs had just enough time to take a quick look around the hangers and museum at some of the incredible pieces of history on display. It is jobs like this that really continue to make every day at Hog Roast Lincoln worth the efforts we put in, and we also cannot thank the courteousness with which every guest met us with. After this one, the Hog Roast Lincoln team will be flying high for a while!
